When I am not working, I try to keep busy with outside activities. 

After living in the USA for 50 years, I felt it was time for a change so I sold everything, packed up my two dogs and cat and moved to the Caribbean in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.  Why Puerto Morelos?  My kids and I traveled at least once a year and this area had become the most common vacation destination for us.  It only felt natural to make it my new home which I have done since January 2021.

There are so many things to do here!  To enjoy some excellent (and not exclusively Mexican) restaurants, I only have to drive 10 minutes and I'm at the beach and am able to enjoy many delicious restaurants and wine bars. 

Puerto Morelos is located on the world's 2nd largest reef so snorkeling and Scuba opportunities are close by.

If I want to mix it up a bit, I can be at the Cozumel ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen in just 30 minutes and on Cozumel soon after that.  When I need a weekend getaway, this is where I usually go.  Well, not just me.  My 2 dogs always join me too. 

Some days I'll spend time at a beach resort enjoy food and Caribbean cocktails while other days I'll meet up with great friends and we'll rent a yacht for the day to explore Isla Mujeres and other local destinations or drive up to Cancun and explore new restaurants.  And I am 30 minutes away from several casinos where I can play a little Blackjack too. 

At least twice a year I'll get on a plane and go somewhere else!  The US, Caribbean islands, other parts of Mexico, Central and South America are all easy to get to from the Cancun Airport which is only 20 minutes away.  Being close to the airport makes it easy to travel up to the states for work too as many major airports have direct flights to Cancun. 

Family, friends, food, travel and my pets are the things that bring me so much pleasure and what I mostly focus on during my off time!
