Hiring An Expat
"Can my company easily hire a US Citizen living outside the US?"
The answer is a definite "yes"!
As a US citizen, I am paid in US Dollars directly into my US bank account.
Like any other W2 employee, I pay federal taxes, have a SSN and all documentation is sent to my Texas mailing address or email address.
There's no additional paperwork beyond the normal forms for hiring a US citizen and no additional taxes are owed by the company or by me for that matter.
Mexico does not require that income taxes be paid on foreign-earned income from foreign-based companies.
It is the exact same as hiring any US Citizen based in the United States!
"But what about Internet access and security?"
I have Starlink with an average network speed of over 200Mb/sec and I use Proton VPN with US-based servers for added security.
